Good news and horrible news.

Well, today at 4:30p.m., my mom, dad, and I took out oldest dog, Angel to the vet for her last visit. She passed away at roughly 5p.m. via euthanasia. She was a little bit over 17 years old (her birthday was February 13th.) and it was just time for her to go. She was blind and deaf, her back legs hardly worked due to a partial stroke, and she had begun loosing control of her bladder and bowels. It was the best for her. Obviously, I cried like a blithering idiot, but that was expected. She had a long life of 13 years with us (we adopted her at nearly 4 years of age.) and it was a good life. She was my first dog ever.

She went peacefully, just as if she were going to sleep, only with her eyes open. I'm not really sure how it will be getting used to not having her around. I have two other dogs, but I'm used to three, and I'm used to hearing her tags tinkle while she paced around the house at might. Now, her tags and purple collar have a place besides my tea cups on my desk and she has a permanent place in my heart.

I love you, sweet girl

Rest in peace, Angel. Hope you're up there with Grandpa. You were always his favorite.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry to hear that :( It's so so hard to lose a pet, they really become your family. At least she isn't suffering now. Poor thing <3 x

My condolences, I had to pu one of mine down 2 months ago and still look down at the side of my desk when I'm in the office expecting to see her. or by the side of the bed, or hell in the bed between the wife and I for that matter. I also find myself calling the puppy (looks just like grandma) her name.

It is amazing how we all become attached to the little fur balls isn't it.

I'm soo sorry to hear that. We had to put my dog down 2 years ago and still to this day when i think about it it makes me cry. Reading this made tears stream down my face. I know its hard but remembering that they are in a better place is what gets me through the hard times.
My condolences to you and your family <3

I'm so sorry, K *hugs* It is so incredibly hard to say goodbye. Sometimes our animals leave us, just like people in our lives, but they are never forgotten. And she will never leave your heart. Hang in there <3

oh dear, I know how it feels when you have to let a dear, faithful dog go, a life companion. Charlie died by euthanasia 3 years ago at 15 of age and he's still greatly missed here. I've now got another dog aged 3 and sometimes I think of Charlie's death and just hope I won't have to go through that with Rolly, my present doggie. Still I am thankful for everything Charlie gave me in his 15 years with me. Just think of the good moments you had with Angel and it'll put a smile on your face. Hugs.
